On the Road for Our Lord

Wow! Our God is indeed an awesome God!
At 7:30 this morning the first part of the Nebraska Mission Team pulled out of the parking lot and headed for Denver. Roger was driving his pickup pulling the trailer with Carol navigating and Darren was at the wheel of the big Ford van with Brooks riding shotgun and Betty, Darlene, Alesia, Kathy, and Lisa riding in relative comfort. (Not as crowded as on the way out). They are staying with host families in Denver tonight and will be back to Norfolk tomorrow afternoon. Please pray for traveling mercies for them
Many were praying for us today as Phil, Nancy, Samm and Nora joined with Rodney A. to lead a training for the lay pastors and leaders of the Four Corners Native American Ministry. God really guided us as we met with Rodney on Thursday morning to plan the event. On Friday we prayed, thought and prepared our remarks late into the evening. We were unsure that we were really ready or had the right words to say.
But God is good and able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. God did not let our human frailities get in the way. Instead God arranged for each of us to be in exactly the right place in the day's schedule. God gave each of us the right words to say. And it was all very blessed. A blessing to those who participated and a blessing to us as resource people. We concluded the day with worship and communion and God was in the room with us.
And the people said Amen.
Tomorrow morning the rest of us will be stuffing all our luggage and sleeping bags into the back of Nancy's car and heading for Denver ourselves. We'll see you'all on Monday afternoon!!
